Give each job a set of records you can follow.
This support is for UK builders and construction business owners who need help with the recurring finance work around their jobs. Andrew’s accounting background includes construction. We agree the workload and handover with you and your existing accountant.
Merchant statements can include several sites, part deliveries and credits still to arrive. We connect supplier invoices, credit notes, receipts and payments, using job references you confirm. Missing documents and disputed amounts stay on an action list.
- Bookkeeping and bank or card reconciliation.
- Merchant-account and supplier-balance checks.
- Document collection with an agreed job reference and approver.
- A list of missing invoices, credits and amounts needing confirmation.
See recorded costs and work still to come.
A useful job report separates costs recorded so far, open commitments and your estimate of the remaining work. We organise the supplied figures so an order becoming an invoice is not counted twice, and assumptions remain visible.
You confirm quantities, labour still needed, expected rates and changes to the work. We help maintain the reporting routine; the cost-to-complete estimate and decisions on site remain yours.
Put stage payments beside upcoming commitments.
Track agreed customer invoices, receipts and expected stage payments alongside supplier balances and known commitments. A forecast receipt stays separate from money already in the bank.
You confirm the contract stages, approved variations, completion status and when invoices can be raised. We organise those inputs for the agreed cash and management reports, with overdue or uncertain items identified for follow-up.
Agree a useful handover and who supplies what.
The recurring output can include reconciled accounts, supplier and customer balance lists, a job-cost summary and outstanding questions. We agree the reporting frequency and cut-off around when your records are available.
- Your team supplies invoices, receipts, merchant statements and job references.
- You confirm commitments, stage payments, variations and remaining-work estimates.
- We organise and reconcile the agreed records, flag gaps and prepare the reporting handover.
- You retain spending decisions, commercial negotiations and payment approval.
Keep the responsibilities clear.
We work alongside your accountant and agree the records and schedules they need. Statutory accounts, tax returns, CIS submissions and specialist tax advice are not included in this bookkeeping scope. Any specialist work needs a separate agreement with the appropriate adviser.
Start with one recurring task, ongoing monthly support or a managed day-to-day finance function. The quote depends on active jobs, accounts, document volumes, reporting needs and the condition of the records. Catch-up work and opening job schedules are assessed separately.
