Shopify, Etsy and eBay payouts, matched to the bank
Each platform pays out on its own schedule, after its fees. We match each payout to the bank and record the sales, fees and refunds behind it.
Sales on one screen, a different figure in the bank
Each platform pays you after taking its fees, processing charges and refunds, and each one has its own payout timing. If you sell on more than one, it's easy to lose track of which deposit belongs to which sales, and your accounts end up showing net figures that hide what you're really paying to sell.
What each platform gives you to reconcile
- Shopify Payments. The Payouts page breaks each payout into charges, refunds, adjustments, fees and reserves, and exports the transactions as a CSV. For a month-end, the Shopify Payments activity report shows the starting balance, gross earnings, fees, payouts and closing balance for a date range. Shopify notes that it shows balance activity, not revenue for the accounts.
- Etsy. Sales go into your Etsy Payment account first and are deposited on the schedule you choose. The monthly statement CSV, from Finances in Shop Manager, lists the sales, fees and taxes, so each deposit can be traced: the sales available for deposit, less the fees and taxes since the last one.
- eBay. In Seller Hub, the Reports section of the Payments tab has the Transaction report, a CSV with the gross and net amount, fees, any hold and the payout ID for each transaction, alongside the payout report and the monthly financial statement.

What we do
Our ecommerce bookkeeping reconciles your platform activity to your payouts and your bank records, alongside your normal monthly bookkeeping:
- each payout matched to the deposit in your bank
- sales, fees and refunds recorded behind each payout
- bank accounts reconciled every month
- supplier and customer balances checked, with anything outstanding shown
Fees are on the price list, and your quote sets out which channels, accounts and volumes it covers.
If you want monthly accounts with commentary and a summary of cash commitments, see management accounts.
We confirm the scope and fee in a written quote before any work starts. VAT is not currently charged.
Who you'll work with
Andrew Ramsell. He runs the accounting and finance work for sole traders, self-employed people and limited companies, including online sellers, and builds the connections that bring their marketplace records into the accounts. He is an AAT-qualified accountant. If you already have an accountant, we can work alongside them. We agree who does what before we start.
For enquiries received by 31 October 2026: we'll price match a like-for-like quote, or you can save with a longer contract.
